Porsche 964 Carrera RS

In 1992 Porsche produced for the European market a super lightweight, rear-wheel-drive version of the 964 called Carrera RS. It was based on the 911 “Carrera Cup” race car and featured a revised version of the standard engine, with an increased output of 260 hp and lightweight flywheel mated to the G50 / 10 transmission with revised ratios and an asymmetric Limited Slip Differential. In terms of suspension, the Carrera RS featured a circuit-oriented suspension system with a 40 mm lower ride height, stiffer springs and adjustable stabilizer bars with no power steering.

A stripped-down interior without power windows, rear seats, air conditioning, cruise control, sound deadening or a stereo system (optionally available at the time) and new racing bucket front seats were part of the base version of the Carrera RS. The hood was aluminum, the chassis was additionally welded to increase rigidity and sound deadening was removed. Wheels were magnesium and the glass was thinner in the doors and rear window. The Carrera RS is about 155 kg lighter than the Carrera 2 model.

All this makes the 964 RS a pure driving machine with an incredible sound! Old enough to feel the heritage of the legendary 1973 Carrera RS and modern enough to drive it fast!
This stunning example was delivered new on February 11, 1992 by Garage Mont Blanc (France) to its first owner as one of only 1,992 European 964 Carrera RSs.

From the factory, the car was ordered without options, as it should be for an RS.

Until 2010 the car stayed in France, where it was meticulously maintained, almost entirely by official Porsche dealers.

In 2010 the car was sold to a Belgian collector, who never registered the car.
