Porsche 964 Carrera RS

In 1992, Porsche produced for the European market a super-lightweight, rear-wheel-drive version of the 964 called the Carrera RS. It was based on the 911 “Carrera Cup” race car and featured a revised version of the standard engine, with an increased output of 260 hp and lightweight flywheel mated to the G50 / 10 transmission with revised ratios and an asymmetric Limited Slip Differential. In terms of suspension, the Carrera RS was equipped with a circuit-oriented suspension system with a 40 mm lower ride height, stiffer springs and adjustable stabilizer bars without power steering.

A stripped-down interior without power windows, rear seats, air conditioning, cruise control, sound deadening or a stereo system (optionally available at the time) and new race-bucket front seats were part of the base version of the Carrera RS. The hood was aluminum, the chassis was additionally welded to increase rigidity and the sound deadening was removed. Wheels were magnesium and the glass was thinner in the doors and rear window. The Carrera RS is about 155 kg lighter than the Carrera 2 model.

All this makes the 964 RS a pure driving machine with incredible sound! Old enough to feel the heritage of the legendary 1973 Carrera RS and modern enough to drive it fast!

This beautiful example was registered by Auto in SRL, Firenze (Porsche dealer) on July 15, 1992 to sell the car to its first Italian owner in April 1994. In 1998, the car was sold to its second Italian owner to be sold to its third Italian owner in 2008. In 2014, the car came to Belgium. In total, the car has had 4 owners.

From the factory, the car was ordered with no options, as it should be for an RS.

The car has always been meticulously maintained, almost entirely by official Porsche dealers.

The car was just completely overhauled by Porsche Centrum Gelderland. The car received a major maintenance, all fluids were replaced, the original magnesium rims were restored, at the bottom the car was ice blasted and otherwise the car was put in tip-top order down to the smallest details.
