Audi R8 V10 RWS (LIMITED EDITION)

The Audi R8 is a production version of the Audi Le Mans quattro concept car presented in 2003. The name R8 is a reference to Audi’s R8 race car that, among other things, won the 24 Hours of Le Mans five times. The car was presented at the 2006 Paris Motor Show.

The Audi R8 was introduced in 2007 as a 4.2 FSI quattro with a V8 engine. In February 2012, the second generation of the R8 was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. This time the car was presented directly with a V10 and no V8 is planned.

At IAA Frankfurt 2017, Audi presented the R8 RWS, which stands for Rear Wheel Series. This R8 breaks Audi’s tradition of all-wheel drive and is the first R8 with rear-wheel drive only. The engine is the same as in the normal R8, the 540-hp V10. Weight is 50 kg lower for the Coupe.

The purist model is hand-built in an edition of 999 copies!

“We are making the Audi R8 V10 RWS for purists,” said Stefan Winkelmann, CEO of Audi Sport GmbH. “This Limited Edition is here for customers who want one thing: pure driving pleasure. The R8 V10 RWS has a centrally mounted V10 and rear-wheel drive. In doing so, it translates the successful concept of the R8 LMS race car to the public road.”

The purist character of the Audi R8 RWS is evident in the matte black grille and air intakes. The Coupe’s sideblade has two shades: high-gloss black on top and body color on the bottom. Like the Audi R8 LMS, the Coupe RWS is available with full-length red striping. The sport seats for driver and passenger come in a combination of leather and Alcantara.

This black Audi R8 RWS was delivered new in Germany and is truly in like-new condition with only 3,246km! Also, the VAT is still recoverable!
