BMW 1M Coupe

The 1M coupe, developed by BMW Motorsport and announced in December 2010, used a tuned version of the N54 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged in-line six-cylinder engine that produced 340 horsepower and put the power on the road via a six-speed manual transmission and electronic slip differential. Unusually, no optional semi-automatic gearbox with shift paddles was available, making the 1M something rare among modern supercars. 

With its front-mounted rear engine/drive, traditional sports car handling and huge amount of torque at low speeds, the 1M was enthusiastically received, especially by those who felt BMW’s image had been diluted by too many SUVs. Richard Hammond of Top Gear even voted the BMW 1M “Car of the Year 2011. Autocar noted a time of 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Production of this acclaimed limited edition model ceased at the end of 2012, reinforcing the 1M’s relative exclusivity and future interest among collectors.

Our Alpina white 1M coué was delivered new in Italy on Oct. 22, 2012, by BMW Italia Retail, Rome. In 2016, the car went to the Netherlands.
